Aris Liapis grew up in the same neighbourhood as The Saint and, by coincidence, shares the same last name, though the two are not related. However, music would forge an enduring connection between Aris and another key figure of Phase in life.

During a rehearsal in a practice space in Larisa, Aris‘ then-band spotted Thanos practising in the same space when they were teenagers. Recognising his talent, their frontman urged Aris to recruit him as their bassist so they wouldn’t have to miss a then upcoming gig. That chance encounter sparked a deep friendship that has stood the test of time, proving that some of the strongest bonds arise unexpectedly. They’d later explain that Thanos‘ image was the winning quality over the people he shared the space with, and it was also revealed it was always a key consideration having had previously sacked a band member by reason of him being ridden with acne. Cruel!

Aris was working with his hands following a misunderstanding in his sixth-form forcing him to choose a vocation in a rushed manner, despite his growing interest in graphic design. Encouraged by Thanos, who is arguably the biggest fan of his creative output, he pursued a diploma in the field at a local college.

Exceptionally talented in both music and visual arts, Aris has a keen eye for detail and a knack for original ideas. He has designed a significant portion of Phase‘s promotional materials and artwork, showcasing his creativity and distinctive style.
